The Club held its annual Presentation Night on 12 July, with trophies and awards presented by Leslie Phillips, a long-standing and much loved volunteer who hosts a regular Thursday Night Kitchen at the Club. He buys and cooks the food and regularly serves up supper for 30-40 members. Leslie presented awards and trophies to our Club members who were recognised for their achievements during the last year.
Trophies are what members of the Club compete for - which end with a winner. Awards are given out to young people for their contribution to Club life during the past year. So far, over the last 152 years, no one person has won every trophy in their age category!
Noah Small was presented The John Scott Club Member of the Year trophy, renamed this year to continue the recognition of John Scott’s contribution to the Club. Noah is 18. He joined the Club a few years ago, did his work experience here from college, volunteered as a football coach, took the FA Level 1 this year and is now Club Member of the Year. He is a super young man and he was voted unanimously by the youth workers. As part of his role of representing the Club at events, he will attend the Management Committee meetings. He will also hold a weekly Thursday night surgery at the Club, giving all members a chance to discuss club life and have their thoughts and ideas passed to the management.
