On Thursday 27 June, St Andrew's Club's invaluable community of regular givers were invited to an evening reception at the iconic Supreme Court of the United Kingdom- just a stone's throw away from St Andrew's youth club. The evening was to thank regular supporters of the Club, in particular. Regular gifts are so important to the sustainability of the St Andrew's Club’s income, enabling the Club to plan ongoing positive activities for young people, helping them to not only ‘stay out of trouble,’ but to discover themselves, their strengths and skills, grow their self-confidence and experience opportunities to build a positive sense of citizenship.
The evening included refreshments, generously sponsored by Forsters law firm, which, in addition to the professionals, were served to guests by three of our Club members, all aged 13-15 - an invaluable experience for those young people. In addition to tours of the Supreme Court, including the Library, which is usually closed to the general public, there was also a showing of a short film about the Club and the value of regular giving. There were speeches from Elizabeth Cuffy (Chairman of St Andrew's) Annette Fettes (Chief Executive, St Andrew's Club) and Mark Ormerod (Chief Executive of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom). As the new Chief Executive, Annette spoke about looking ahead to the next chapter at St Andrew's and identifying the priorities which will ensure St Andrew's continues to go from strength to strength.
Thank you to all of the Club's treasured regular supporters who attended. To be sure of your invitation to our future special evening receptions, join our family of regular givers and donate by standing order. Please contact lucy@standrewsclub for more information. Huge thanks to Forsters LLP for sponsoring the evening and to Ella-Mei, Club Member for taking the photographs!
