Reception hosted by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of London at the Mansion House

04 Jul 2017

On Tuesday 4th July St Andrew's Club had the honour of a wonderful reception hosted by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley, at the Mansion House. It was an incredible privilege to have the unbeaten 150-year history of St Andrew's Club, which exemplifies the youth club movement in inner city London, recognised there. We are grateful to reach this great milestone with help from a great many friends and supporters.

Guests watched a short film showing how the importance of our part-time youth workers cannot be underestimated. Nearly all of the youth workers were Club members and they continue to make a real difference to the lives of the next generation of young people, who can face many hurdles growing up in this area: “St Andrew’s helped me to become a better person,” says Tom in the film. They help provide the ‘rock’ on which our members can stand now and throughout their lives.

Thanks to Cliff Llewellyn, for the super photography.
