Sarah, Youth Club Manager, Adrian, Deputy Manager, and Roy, the Club's lovely caretaker, proudly show-off the finished product!
Whilst the doors of St Andrew’s Club are physically closed to members due to the coronavirus lockdown, the team decided this was the perfect opportunity to spruce up the Club to prepare for the return of our members. As the Social Area in the Club is the busiest area in the Club and therefore experiences the most wear and tear, the floor was in desperate need of some TLC after 36 years!
The team are floored (pardon the pun!) at the incredible transformation of the Club’s Social Area, with huge thanks to generous funding from The Rose Foundation and the Edward Harvist Trust, who each granted the Club £5,000.
The works were successfully completed over the space of 5 days, with Deputy Manager, Adrian, and Roy, Caretaker, who both live locally, getting involved and assisting with the moving of the furniture. The fabulous new floor has inspired the team to continue freshening the Club up in anticipation of our members’ return – the radiators and skirting boards have also been given a lick of paint and the Social Area has been rigorously decluttered which has given the heart of St Andrew’s Club a fantastic facelift! A huge thank you to local SW1 builders Heeran Construction, who donated £1,000 to the Club when they sent in their invoice for the work.
Hopefully, the Club’s new look will last for many years to come. We can’t wait for Club life to return to normal, to see our lovely members, and for the Club’s fresh new look to be revealed!
