Empowering Youth Leadership At St Andrew's

06 Oct 2026

Junior Youth Workers from St Andrew’s joined over 20 Young people from across Europe as part of Euromet Jamboree 2026. This five-day programme is led by social charity Catch22, and focuses on youth voice, leadership, inclusion and resilience.

Participants from England as well as Belgium, Estonia, Finland, and Poland enjoyed activities and experiences taking place across London. The week-long programme is designed to build confidence, strengthen teamwork and encourage creative thinking. At the heart of the programme is a commitment to listening to young people and creating opportunities for them to share their views, experiences and ideas.

St Andrew's was delighted to host the group for a day - delivering an experience that empowered young people to explore what good youth services look like and how they can help shape them.

The workshops held at St Andrew’s focused on three key themes: People, Place and Purpose. Through discussion, creative activities and group work, young people explored what they need from youth services, who should deliver them, what spaces best support young people to thrive and why their voices should be at the centre of decision-making.

For the team at St Andrew's, the event was a powerful reminder of the importance of investing in young people's ideas and creating spaces where they can be heard.

As new friendships were formed across cultures, the Jamboree highlighted the value of international collaboration and the lasting impact of youth work. Most importantly, it highlighted what St Andrew's has always believed: when young people are given the opportunity, support and platform to lead, they can achieve extraordinary things.
